Special Counsel Makes Bombshell Find In FEMA Scandal

Special Counsel Releases Findings From FEMA Investigation

You almost have to admire the audacity. A FEMA supervisor, Marn’i Washington, stood in front of relief workers in Florida after Hurricane Milton and told them, flat out, to ignore any homes with Trump signs. Let that sink in. Instead of focusing on, you know, actually helping Americans in a disaster zone, she decided that political affiliations should determine who gets aid and who gets left behind. And then, when caught, she lied about it. Shocking, right?

The Office of Special Counsel (OSC) has now confirmed what was already obvious: Washington’s excuse about “safety concerns” was completely bogus. She claimed that Trump supporters had threatened FEMA workers, but there were no reports—zero—of any such incidents. Not from local law enforcement, not from the relief crew, not even from FEMA itself. In reality, this was just another example of a bureaucrat drunk on power, using her position to play petty partisan games.

According to the OSC’s complaint, her instructions led to at least 20 homes being skipped over. That’s 20 families left without help during a natural disaster simply because they had the wrong political sign in their yard. Washington made these directives multiple times over several days, ensuring that her bias wasn’t just a one-time “mistake” but a clear and deliberate policy. Five separate relief workers confirmed that they were ordered to bypass homes with Trump signs between October 22 and October 27.

When the whistleblowers came forward, and FEMA finally got around to investigating, Washington flatly denied everything. In fact, she doubled down, claiming that her team only avoided homes with signs that said people would “shoot on sight.” Nice try, but the evidence says otherwise. There were no such signs reported, and no official documentation of any safety issues. She was making it up as she went along, hoping no one would ask too many questions.

Here’s the kicker: Washington wasn’t fired until November 9—over two weeks after the first reports came out and just one day after The Daily Wire broke the story. In other words, it wasn’t FEMA’s internal investigation that sealed her fate—it was public exposure. If the media hadn’t gotten involved, how long would she have been allowed to keep her job? How many other cases like this have been quietly brushed under the rug?

And let’s not forget that Washington is facing two counts of violating the Hatch Act, which, for those keeping track, is a federal law designed to prevent government officials from using their position for political purposes. That’s exactly what she did. She used her authority to punish Trump supporters, plain and simple. If this had gone the other way—if a FEMA supervisor had instructed workers to skip over homes with Biden signs—you can bet there would be wall-to-wall media coverage and demands for criminal charges. But when it’s a Democrat targeting Trump voters? The silence is deafening.

This is what happens when left-wing bureaucrats think they can get away with anything. They let their personal politics dictate their decisions, even when it means leaving American citizens out to dry—literally. Washington might be out of a job, but the real question is: how many more Marn’i Washingtons are out there, quietly making sure the “wrong” people don’t get the help they need?
