Jay-Z Calls Accusations of Him Raping 13-Year-Old Girl With Diddy a ‘Blackmail Attempt,’ Expresses Deep Concern for Own Family:
A Jane Doe accuser has filed legal documents alleging sexual assault against rapper Jay-Z, claiming the incident occurred at a party following the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards.
The lawsuit, filed in New York’s Southern District, details graphic accusations of sexual assault involving Jay-Z and Sean “Diddy” Combs.
Daily Mail reported that the accuser, who was 13 at the time, describes a traumatic incident that allegedly took place at a house party after the awards ceremony at Radio City Music Hall.
Jay-Z, 55, has vehemently denied the allegations, calling them a “blackmail attempt” in a scathing statement to the outlet.
He expressed deep concern for his family, particularly his 12-year-old daughter Blue Ivy, who he fears will be impacted by the lawsuit’s public scrutiny.
“My only heartbreak is for my family,” Jay-Z said.
“’My wife and I will have to sit our children down, one of whom is at the age where her friends will surely see the press and ask questions about the nature of these claims, and explain the cruelty and greed of people.”
The rapper’s statement was unequivocal, challenging the credibility of attorney Tony Buzbee, who has filed the lawsuit.
Jay-Z demanded a criminal complaint instead of a civil lawsuit, emphasizing the serious nature of the allegations.
“What he had calculated was the nature of these allegations and the public scrutiny would make me want to settle,” the rapper said in a statement, obtained by Daily Mail. “No sir, it had the opposite effect!”
“It made me want to expose you for the fraud you are in a VERY public fashion. So no, I will not give you ONE RED PENNY!!” it read.
“’These allegations are so heinous in nature that I implore you to file a criminal complaint, not a civil one!! Whomever would commit such a crime against a minor should be locked away, would you not agree?”
“’These alleged victims would deserve real justice if that were the case,” the statement continued.
“This lawyer, who I have done a bit of research on, seems to have a pattern of these type of theatrics!”
The accuser claims she was lured to the party by a limousine driver associated with Combs, who allegedly suggested she “fit what Diddy was looking for.”
The lawsuit added that the evening involved widespread drug use, with the accuser reporting she became disoriented after consuming a drink.
The legal documents allege that both Jay-Z and Combs sexually assaulted the minor, with another unnamed celebrity present during the incident.
The accuser describes significant long-term trauma, including depression, post-traumatic stress disorder and a seizure disorder.
The timing of the allegations coincides with the early stages of Jay-Z and Beyoncé’s relationship, Daily Mail reported.
Beyoncé has previously shared that she and Jay-Z were friends for a year and a half before dating, first meeting when she was 18.
Combs, currently detained at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center on separate sex trafficking and racketeering charges, has denied all allegations through his legal team.
His attorneys characterized Buzbee’s lawsuit as a “shameless publicity stunt.”
The lawsuit was filed under New York state’s Victims of Gender-Motivated Violence Protection Act, seeking unspecified damages.
