Dana White Surprises With Political U-Turn After Supporting Trump During Election: ‘I’m Never F***ing Doing This Again’
In a surprising turn of events following Donald Trump’s recent presidential victory, UFC President Dana White has made a dramatic declaration about his future involvement in politics, despite being one of Trump’s most visible supporters throughout the campaign.
White, who appeared prominently during Trump’s victory celebrations at Mar-a-Lago following his win over Kamala Harris, made his stance clear in a candid interview with The New Yorker.
“I’m never f***ing doing this again,” White stated bluntly.
“I want nothing to do with this s. It’s gross. It’s disgusting. I want nothing to do with politics.”
The UFC chief’s announcement comes as a particular surprise given his long-standing relationship with Trump.
White has been a fixture at Republican National Conventions, speaking on Trump’s behalf at the last three events.
Their alliance extends beyond politics, with Trump frequently attending UFC events and supporting the organization’s growth over the years.
Daily Mail reported that most recently, Trump appeared cageside at UFC 309 at Madison Square Garden, accompanied by both White and Elon Musk.
The event marked Trump’s first UFC appearance since securing his return to the White House, where he witnessed heavyweight champion Jon Jones’s knockout victory over Stipe Miocic.
Despite his withdrawal from future political involvement, White’s loyalty to Trump personally remains unwavering.
In his New Yorker interview, White praised Trump’s resilience, stating, “Donald Trump is tougher and more badass than anybody.”
“You can only pray that you’re a quarter of the man that Donald Trump was when a guy tried to take seven shots at his head with a high powered rifle with a f***king scope on it.”
TTOA highlighted that the political atmosphere was palpable at UFC 309, where Jones celebrated his victory with a distinct patriotic flair.
After his win, Jones approached Trump, presenting him with his championship belt while imitating the president-elect’s signature arm-shimmy dance.
“A big, big thank you to President Donald Trump for being here tonight,” Jones declared in the cage.
“I’m proud to be a great American champion. I’m proud to be a Christian-American champion.”
TTOA has extensively covered White’s support of Trump in recent months.
White, for example, made headlines after calling the then-Republican presidential hopeful an “American bada**” following one of the two assanation attempts on his life.
“I’ve been saying this forever about this guy,” White told Pat McAfee on “The Pat McAfee Show.”.
“[Trump] is one of the toughest, most resilient human beings I’ve ever met in my life.”
“And let me tell you what, everybody wants to act like a tough guy… Well, when the sh*t goes down, you find out who tough guys are and who tough guys are not,” White continued.
“This guy is the legitimate, ultimate American bad a** of all-time.”
