Tucker Carlson Drops One-Word Response About Vice Presidential Debate

Tucker Carlson Says Vice Presidential Debate Was ‘Unbelievable’ as the Country Reacts

After the highly anticipated CBS vice presidential debate between Ohio Senator JD Vance (R) and Democratic Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz Tuesday night, Tucker Carlson and special guest Utah Sen. Mike Lee (R) had a lot to say.

In his reaction to the debate, Carlson called it “unbelievable,” praising Vance for his “emotional control” throughout, even joking that “he acted the way my wife wants me to act.”

Lee also praised Vance, calling him the “master of the mood” and “a pure joy to watch.” He also commended his efforts while having the odds stacked against him as the moderators ganged up on him as they did during former President Donald Trump’s ABC debate with Vice President Kamala Harris.

The duo was also in agreement with the poor performance of CBS moderators Norah O’Donnell and Margaret Brennan.

In a moment that he described as “one of the coolest” and “masterful” debate moments he had ever witnessed, Carlson replayed the point in the debate where Vance ignored the moderators’ trying to cut him off after they gave him a false fact check on Haitian immigration, leading them to cut his mic off.

“I don’t understand how they walk away from this with any sense of journalistic self-respect or perception of their own objectivity,” said Lee. “What you saw tonight was an indication that they are, for all practical purposes, the media communications wing of the Democratic Party.”

Carlson said that their performance “came off so badly” and was not a good look for the network.

Moving on to Walz, both men heavily criticized his performance, especially his controversial remark of being friends with school shooters when the topic of gun control came up.

“I don’t know what that means, but that was perhaps the greatest presidential or vice presidential debate flop in living memory,” said Lee.

“He came across as badly as anyone could at a debate,” said Carlson, who referred to Walz as an “affirmative action hire who the Harris campaign probably regretted choosing as a running mate.

He called out the Democratic Party for basing their candidates on race and said that Walz was chosen because he was an “older white guy.”

Lee criticized Walz’s knowledge of Minnesota laws, especially its abortion laws, where he removed the requirement to save the life of a baby who survived an abortion attempt. He signed the bill in May 2023, according to the National Catholic Registry.

He also noted that Walz’s statements sounded more like someone who was pro-life.

The economy was also a major part of the debate, as millions of Americans struggle with housing and food prices. Carlson mocked Walz and the moderators for wanting Vance to produce a study that showed that the increase in population, due to illegal immigration, has contributed to the rise in costs, thus supply and demand.

“Like anyone who demands a study to prove something that obvious, is like, an idiot,” said Carlson.
