Elon Musk Reiterates Fear of Dem ‘Importing Voters’ Plot After Liberal Outlet Reveals Citizenship Apps Being Approved Fast
Hundreds of immigrants from 63 countries recently became U.S. citizens at a ceremony in Riverside, California.
This event is part of a larger trend as immigration authorities process citizenship applications at the fastest rate in a decade, the Los Angeles Times reported.
Elon Musk, who has not minced words about his fears that Democrats are allowing illegal immigration to ensure a “permanent one-party rule,” reiterated a frequently used concern of his: “They are importing voters.”
“It is obvious,” Musk added, accompanied with a screenshot of the LA Times article.
The liberal outlet reported that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has been working to clear a backlog of applications that began during the Trump administration and grew during the COVID-19 pandemic.
DHS spokesperson Naree Ketudat emphasized that this increased efficiency is not politically motivated, stating, “DHS does not take actions based on electoral politics or upcoming elections. Period.”
Despite this assertion, the timing has sparked discussion about the potential impact on the upcoming presidential election.
Musk, for his part, has blasted Democrats routinely on this issue. He specifically slammed Vice President Kamala Harris for pledging to establish an “earned pathway to citizenship” for migrants who have entered the country illegally.
“The publicly-stated goal by almost all leaders of the Democratic Party is to legalize the ~15 million illegal migrants as soon as possible, as well as bring in tens of millions more,” Musk wrote on X earlier this month.
“This is the last real election if Trump loses,” Musk warned.
The LA Times reported that nearly 4 million immigrants have gained U.S. citizenship since the 2020 election, though this represents only a small fraction of the total electorate.
It carefully noted that the naturalization process typically takes several years, and only U.S. citizens can vote in federal elections.
The current efficiency in processing applications means that thousands of new citizens in key states could potentially influence the November 5 election outcome, the outlet added.
Xiao Wang, co-founder of Boundless, an immigration assistance company, noted the political sensitivity of the situation but dismissed conspiracy theories.
“This is not part of some master conspiracy to flood the country with new Democratic voters,” Wang said, adding that many immigrants align with Republican values.
The LA Times was sure to highlight this so-called diversity of political leanings was evident at the Riverside ceremony.
A 54-year-old originally from Mexico, for example, expressed her intention to vote for former President Trump, citing his economic policies and stance on immigration.
The Times cited a recent poll by the National Partnership for New Americans that discovered 97% of naturalized citizens in swing states and California are likely to vote this fall.
The survey also revealed a range of political preferences, with 54 percent of respondents favoring Vice President Kamala Harris and 38 percent supporting Trump.
Organizations like TODEC Legal Center in California are working to engage new citizens through voter education classes.
These sessions familiarize participants with the voting process, from registration to ballot completion.
The average processing time for citizenship applications has been reduced from 11.5 months in 2021 to 4.9 months this fiscal year, matching the processing speed from a decade ago.
This “improvement” is attributed to Biden administration efforts to streamline the naturalization process.
The impact of these new citizens on the election remains to be seen, but their enthusiasm for civic participation is clear.
As newly minted citizen Kevin Teh from Chino put it, “I don’t really want to vote just for the sake of voting. I’d rather have someone who really will do the right job for all the citizens.”
