Ex-Gang Member Warns of ‘Bloodshed’ as Tren de Aragua Moves to Chicago, Conflicting With Local Gangs
The deadly Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua (TdA) has potentially met its toughest challenge yet, as a former gang member warned that South Side Chicago might “go up in flames” as tension between them and local gangs rises.
In an interview with the New York Post, Tyrone Muhammad said that the black community was angry about the government giving money to what they referred to as “non-citizens,” who have taken over their shelters and apartment buildings, depleting a community that was already struggling.
Muhammad served 20 years in prison for murder and turned his life around upon release. To combat crime and protect his community, he runs the Ex-Cons for Community and Social Change program, which patrols the streets and teaches about violence prevention.
“It is impossible to release gang members and criminals into our country through the borders and broken walls and infiltrate them in our community that’s already impoverished and broken,” he said.
With his previous knowledge of gangs, Muhammad warned that as TdA continues to spread across the city and commit crime, no one will be able to stop local gangs from retaliating.
“When the black gangs here get fed up with the illegalities and criminal activities of these migrants or noncitizens, the city of Chicago is going to go up in flames and there will be nothing the National Guard or the government can do about it when the bloodshed hits the streets: It’ll be blacks against migrants.”
The Post reported that in the last two years, the Windy City has spent close to half a billion dollars on over 42,000 illegal immigrants who have entered the city since 2022.
Most of those illegal immigrants have been provided money, food, housing and cars by the government. Meanwhile, the black community is pushed aside and kicked out by their landlords since they receive more government money for illegal immigrants.
Some of the illegal immigrants living in these areas are members of TdA, and city sources revealed that they are heavily armed and establishing a presence on the South Side.
Those areas are already controlled by several gangs, including Black P Stone, Latin Kings and Satan’s Disciples.
Several gang members told The Post that they were frustrated and angry about illegal immigrants being favored over residents by city officials.
“There’s been a lot going on with (the migrant gangs) that nobody’s even hearing about,” said Zacc Massie, a street leader who first went to prison in 2015 and recently released.
“They be moving in our own territory and robbing people but they don’t get arrested like we do. I actually talked to one on the translator app. He told me all the things he got going on; how they helped him get a car, an apartment, (EBT) card, all this stuff. They giving them thousands, we get maybe $400 a month. And they don’t even have Social Security numbers! “
David, a young member of the Gangster Disciples, condemned the government for permitting gangs like TdA to enter the country.
“The real issue is that America has allowed gangs to enter our country,” he said. “Gangs that they would consider ex-terrorist groups. They let terrorist groups into our country!”
