Breaking: Trump Shooter Identified

TTOA previously reported that former President Donald Trump was the subject of yet another assassination attempt on his life.

The suspect has been identified as Ryan Wesley Routh, according to Fox News.

The former president nearly lost his life on July 13 while speaking at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

On Sunday, Trump was seen golfing at his club in West Palm Beach, Florida, when gunshots were heard, prompting Secret Service agents to immediately pounce on the former president and shield him from the bullets.

Thankfully, the former president was unharmed and is safe.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is currently conducting an investigation into “what appears to be an attempted assassination” of Trump.

The Associated Press (AP) reported that the U.S. Secret Service opened fire at the alleged shooter, who has since been identified and detained.

The shooter is said to have pointed an AK-style rifle at the former president while he was golfing. The gunman was approximately 300-500 yards away from Trump, according to law enforcement.

“The person dropped the weapon and fled in an SUV, and was later taken into custody in a neighboring county. The officials were not authorized to discuss the ongoing investigation and spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity,” the AP reported.

Trump’s son, Donald Trump Jr., reacted to the fateful event on X.

“Again folks! SHOTS FIRED at Trump Golf Course in West Palm Beach, Florida. An AK-47 was discovered in the bushes, per local law enforcement. The Trump campaign has released a statement confirming former President Trump is safe,” Trump Jr. wrote.

Martin County Sheriff William D. Synder said the alleged shooter was apprehended minutes after the FBI, Secret Service and Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office sent out a “very urgent BOLO” or “be on the lookout alert” detailing the suspect’s vehicle, license plate number and occupant description, per the AP.

Synder said his deputies immediately tracked the suspect and surrounded him on I-95, sending personnel to every exit between Palm Beach County to the south and the St. Lucie County line to the north.

“One of my road patrol units saw the vehicle, matched the tag and we set up on the vehicle,” Synder said.

“We pinched in on the car, got it safely stopped and got the driver in custody,” Synder added.

When stopped by police, the suspect showed very little emotion and did not question why he was being detained.

“He never asked, ‘What is this about?” Obviously, law enforcement with long rifles, blue lights, a lot going on. He never questioned it,” Synder said.
