Pam Bondi Unleashes Task Force to Crush Anti-Christian Bias in US
The Trump administration is launching a new federal initiative aimed at addressing what officials describe as a rising tide of anti-Christian discrimination within the government.
Attorney General Pam Bondi announced the formation of a task force this week that will investigate and confront policies and practices allegedly targeting Christian Americans.
Bondi said the initiative will identify “unlawful anti-Christian policies, practices or conduct” in federal departments and agencies. It will also address “deficiencies” that may contribute to ongoing discrimination.
“The First Amendment isn’t just a line in the Constitution, it’s the cornerstone of our American liberty,” Bondi said Tuesday, according to the Washington Examiner.
“It guarantees every citizen the right to speak freely, worship freely, and live according to their conscience without government interference.”
The announcement follows President Donald Trump’s signing of an executive order two months ago, which declared an end to what he called “the War on Christians.”
The order states, “My Administration will not tolerate anti-Christian weaponization of government or unlawful conduct targeting Christians,” per The Post Millennial.
Bondi pointed to multiple examples from recent years, accusing the Biden administration of unfairly targeting peaceful Christian Americans.
“The president is right. Biden’s Department of Justice abused and targeted Christians,” she said. “Pro-life Christians were arrested and imprisoned for peacefully praying outside abortion clinics.”
“The FBI spied on traditional Catholics in the parishes.”
She also highlighted a 2023 Federal Bureau of Investigation memorandum that described “radical-traditionalist” Catholics as domestic-terrorism threats and proposed infiltrating Catholic churches as part of a mitigation strategy.
The document, later retracted, cited highly partisan sources and drew widespread criticism from religious freedom advocates, according to TPM.
Bondi said the new task force would take aim at actions like these and ensure that Christian Americans are no longer treated unfairly by their own government.
“Protecting Christians from bias is not favoritism,” she stated, per the Washington Examiner. “It’s upholding the rule of law and fulfilling the Constitutional promise.”
In her remarks, Bondi emphasized the Trump administration’s efforts to reverse recent trends.
She noted that the Department of Justice had dropped three ongoing cases against pro-life advocates and redefined enforcement of the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act.
She also cited the conviction of an Arizona man for plotting to bomb Christian churches as evidence of the government’s continuing responsibility to protect peaceful worship.
Bondi criticized Biden’s 2024 decision to declare March 31 as “Transgender Day of Visibility,” which coincided with Easter Sunday that year.
She also referenced a spike in church vandalism, stating such incidents were eight times higher in 2023 than in 2018, when Trump was president.
Last week, the Trump administration hosted several Holy Week events at the White House.
During an Easter dinner attended by faith leaders, Trump reaffirmed his commitment to religious liberty, declaring, “The U.S. will always be ‘In God We Trust,’ and there is so much to celebrate this Easter.”
The new task force represents the administration’s next step in enforcing constitutional protections for Christian Americans and addressing what it sees as ideological bias across federal systems.
