Elon Musk Drops Shocking DOGE News

DOGE Has Uncovered $150B in Savings: Elon Musk

In a huge win for the Trump administration, tech mogul Elon Musk announced on Thursday that the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has uncovered $150 billion in projected savings for fiscal year 2026.

Although this figure is substantial and eye-opening, it falls short of Musk’s previous estimate to cut $1 trillion from the federal budget during his 130-day tenure as the head of DOGE.

During a Cabinet meeting at the White House on Thursday, Musk revealed the groundbreaking findings.

The tech mogul thanked President Donald Trump for his leadership as well as his Cabinet.

“Thanks to your fantastic leadership, this amazing Cabinet, and the very talented DOGE team, I’m excited to announce that we anticipate savings in [Fiscal Year] ‘26 from reduction of waste and fraud by $150 billion,” Musk said during the meeting.

In a previous interview with Fox News host Bret Baier, Musk pointed out that his goal was to reduce the national deficit.

“Our goal is to reduce the deficit by one trillion dollars. From a nominal deficit of two trillion, to try and cut the deficit in half to one trillion,” he said.

At the time, Musk expressed confidence that his team could accomplish the bulk of this reduction within the brief duration of his contract. “I think we will have accomplished most of the work required to reduce the deficit by a trillion dollars within that time frame,” he added.

Although Musk did not reach his initial goal of saving $1 trillion, the uncovered figure demonstrates dramatic savings.

According to DOGE’s website, the massive cuts translate to an average saving of $931.68 per taxpayer.

The most significant reductions are set to come from the Department of Health and Human Services, the Department of Education, and the General Services Administration.

Musk’s announcement came after he revealed that DOGE identified hundreds of millions of dollars paid to people who don’t exist, as TTOA previously reported.

DOGE revealed that since 2020, there were 24,500 unemployment claims made by people allegedly over 115 years old, costing taxpayers $59 million. Additionally, 28,000 children aged 1 to 5 claimed $254 million, while 9,700 individuals with birthdates set more than 15 years in the future received $69 million.

In a shocking case, one unborn individual with a birthday in 2154 received $41,000.

“Your tax dollars were going to pay fraudulent unemployment claims for fake people born in the future! This is so crazy that I had to read it several times before it sank in,” Musk said on X.

Iowa Sen. Joni Ernst (R) also commented on the matter, according to the New York Post.

“Of course, toddlers and someone with a birthdate 129 years in the future are unemployed, but they definitely don’t qualify for unemployment benefits,” she said.
