Trump Declares a New Staffing Record Under His Administration
In a late-night post on his Truth Social platform, President Donald Trump proudly declared that his administration has set a new record for staffing, having filled over 2,200 positions just a few months after taking office.
Trump highlighted that these appointments were made with exceptionally qualified candidates and that the Presidential Personnel Office had made more offers than any previous administration.
Trump emphasized that these staffing efforts are part of his broader goal to “Make America Great Again,” and he expressed his commitment to continuing to hire “America First Patriots” to further the nation’s agenda.

According to Trump, his administration has sent more nominations to the Senate than any other, marking a significant achievement in the first months of his presidency.
However, Trump’s staffing success has not been without its challenges. He recently withdrew Rep. Elise Stefanik’s (R-NY) nomination as U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, citing concerns that her departure from Congress would weaken his ability to advance key legislation.
In his Truth Social post, Trump stressed that it was crucial to maintain every Republican seat in Congress to keep moving forward with his legislative priorities.
The decision to pull Stefanik’s nomination came as a surprise to many, particularly since she had been expected to be confirmed by the Senate soon. Stefanik was initially slated to become the U.S. ambassador to the UN, a role she was anticipated to assume after Senate confirmation, as the Conservative Brief reported.
However, Trump’s withdrawal of the nomination raised questions about the impact this move would have on his administration’s legislative agenda.
According to sources familiar with the decision, the withdrawal of Stefanik’s nomination was unexpected, with one New York Republican official calling it a “bombshell.” The official expressed that Trump’s choice was a swift one, demonstrating his focus on maintaining a strong grip on the House of Representatives.
Trump’s concern over the balance of power in the House, which currently stands at a narrow Republican majority of 218-213, influenced his decision to ask Stefanik to remain in Congress.
With such a slim majority in the House, Trump’s team was concerned that Stefanik’s resignation to take the UN role would make it more difficult to pass crucial pieces of legislation, including border security, energy policies, and tax reforms.
These bills are expected to be voted on before Memorial Day, and Trump argued that keeping Stefanik in Congress was vital to ensuring their passage.
Trump’s team worked closely with Speaker Mike Johnson’s office to assess the potential consequences of Stefanik’s departure. Ultimately, it was determined that Stefanik’s continued presence in Congress was more important for the party’s legislative success than her confirmation as ambassador to the UN.
In his statement, Trump emphasized that there are other qualified individuals who can take on the role at the UN, and he reaffirmed his support for Stefanik remaining in Congress. He also noted that her decision to stay in the House was a selfless one, reflecting her deep commitment to the country and to the president’s agenda.
Speaker Johnson praised Stefanik’s decision, acknowledging her dedication to the success of Trump’s agenda. He also expressed gratitude for her willingness to remain in Congress, describing her as a great leader and a devoted patriot.
Stefanik, who had been one of the earliest Trump nominees to undergo vetting, had already cleared the Senate Foreign Relations Committee by a voice vote in January. However, her new role in Congress, with her return to the leadership team, is now viewed as a strategic move for the Republican Party’s continued success.
