The task force, which was announced on Monday, is working relentlessly to track down those responsible for setting fire to Tesla cars and equipment, with the agency already reviewing dozens of cases. This surge in attacks has raised alarm, with authorities determined to bring the perpetrators to justice and prevent further destruction.
The FBI’s task force consists of 10 agents, including members from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and the FBI’s Counterterrorism Division, according to the New York Post. ATF agents are embedded in FBI field offices, starting with San Antonio, Texas, where some of the attacks, including Molotov cocktail assaults, have taken place.

The task force will focus on the 48 incidents reported this month involving Tesla vehicles, dealerships and charging stations, the outlet reports.
Among the attacks investigated so far are fires set to a Tesla Cybertruck in Seattle, Washington and seven charging stations torched in Littleton, Massachusetts. In Austin, Texas and Las Vegas, Nevada, molotov cocktails were used to ignite Tesla vehicles.
Other incidents include shootings at a Tesla dealership in Tigard, Oregon and anti-Tesla vandalism in San Diego, California. In addition, a battery station in Seattle was set ablaze, with the words “BURN NAZI CAR KILL ELON” spray-painted on it.
“[FBI] Director [Kash] Patel has been unequivocally clear: The FBI will be relentless in its mission to protect the American people,” an FBI representative told The Post. “Acts of violence, vandalism, and domestic terrorism — like the recent Tesla attacks — will be pursued with the full force of the law.”
President Donald Trump has also weighed in on the escalating situation, pledging to be tough on the criminals behind these attacks, as TTOA previously reported. Trump has suggested sending the perpetrators to serve 20-year prison sentences in El Salvador, where the U.S. recently rented out a prison for deported illegal gang members.

The FBI is treating the incidents as part of a coordinated campaign against Tesla, specifically targeting the company’s CEO, Elon Musk, and his controversial role in government interventions. The bureau is investigating links between the attacks and a blog promoting anarchist ideology based out of Salt Lake City, Utah.
This blog has been linked to a planned mass protest, “Tesla Takedown,” scheduled for March 29, which is calling for 500 demonstrations at Tesla locations nationwide.
The FBI has already made three arrests in connection with the attacks. U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi has declared the acts as “domestic terrorism” and warned that those responsible could face up to 20 years in prison. Law enforcement is reviewing security camera footage and utilizing cell phone location data to help solve the cases.

Rob Chadwick, a former FBI agent, highlighted the seriousness of the ongoing attacks to The Post, stressing that they are “coordinated, violent acts targeting a specific company” driven by “ideological beliefs,” whether rooted in environmental, political or social motivations.
He further explained that the FBI classifies such actions as domestic terrorism, noting that these violent acts are intended to “intimidate or coerce a civilian population or influence government policy.”
Chadwick also emphasized the FBI’s commitment to bringing those responsible to justice.
“Those breaking the law or using violence to intimidate others will feel the full weight of the justice system,” he declared.
