Biden Pushes for Political Comeback—Democrats Aren’t Buying It: Report
Former President Joe Biden is eager to step back into the political arena to assist the Democratic Party in recovering from its 2024 losses, according to a new report. However, his efforts to re-engage have not been well received by key party figures, revealing a deepening divide within the party.

Sources close to Biden reveal that he recently offered his support to Democratic National Committee (DNC) Chairman Ken Martin, expressing his willingness to raise campaign funds and use his influence to help the party regain its footing, NBC News reports. Despite Biden’s enthusiasm, many within the party have dismissed his offer, citing concerns about his age and his association with the recent defeat.
With Biden now 82 years old, critics argue that his connection to the 2024 election failure makes him an emblem of the past, not a forward-looking leader capable of guiding the party to future victories.
A Biden supporter, speaking anonymously to the outlet, expressed doubts about his role in the party’s revival, questioning, “Who’s going to want Joe Biden back in the game?”
This reflects broader concerns within the Democratic Party that Biden’s time as a leader has passed and that new leadership is needed to address the challenges ahead.
While some within the party, such as DNC Vice Chair Jane Kleeb, defend Biden’s continuing relevance, others are not convinced.
Kleeb emphasized, “If you were to call any state party chair and ask them if they wanted Joe Biden to be a keynote speaker for their annual dinner, the answer would be yes. He is beloved by the party and beloved by the voters.” However, critics within the party argue that relying on Biden at this stage risks further alienating voters who are calling for fresh faces and ideas.
A longtime Democratic fundraiser from Philadelphia, Alan Kessler, echoed these sentiments, suggesting, “It’s time to move on with new leadership.” He acknowledged Biden’s past role in the party but stressed that it is time to look forward.
“At the appropriate time, Biden can be an asset to the party by campaigning in selected areas, such as his hometown, Scranton, Pennsylvania, but now isn’t it,” Kessler added.
Meanwhile, Biden’s attempts to re-enter the political scene have been complicated by recent developments. This week, President Donald Trump made the controversial decision to end Secret Service protection for Biden’s adult children, Hunter and Ashley.
This unexpected move sparked concern within the Biden family.
“Their first question was whether their two children would be safe,” a source close to Jill Biden said, claiming there was a lack of warning before the decision was made.
Despite Biden’s willingness to support the party, some inside the Democratic ranks remain wary. A former senior White House adviser, speaking on condition of anonymity, shared frustration with Biden’s continued involvement.
“The Bidens are still living in an alternative universe that revolves only around them,” the adviser told the New York Post following NBC’s report. “Their irresponsibility, family ego, and selfishness put the Democratic Party in this position in the first place.”
“The Biden family—and the disconnected reality that they and their ineffective little circle live in—are responsible for the Trump sequel and the wilderness the Democratic Party finds itself in today.”
As news spread of Biden’s possible return to politics, the reactions were swift and mixed. Conservative voices on X chimed in with sharp criticism.

One more dismissed the idea altogether, stating, “Not a chance in Hell. Imagine the mental gymnastics it takes to believe that this duo is viable?”

These reactions, along with internal discussions within the Democratic Party, reflect differing perspectives on Biden’s potential role moving forward. While some party members view his involvement as beneficial, particularly in regions like his hometown of Scranton, Pennsylvania, others advocate for a shift toward new leadership.
