AOC Suffers Massive Gaffe, Says ‘Fart’ Instead of ‘Fight’
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) found herself the subject of online mockery after an embarrassing slip of the tongue during a speech in Colorado on Friday.
Speaking alongside Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) as part of their “Fighting Oligarchy: Where We Go From Here” tour, Ocasio-Cortez attempted to energize the audience with a call to action.
She intended to say, “We need a Democratic Party that fights harder for us.” However, she mistakenly stated, “We need a Democratic Party that farts harder for us.”

The unexpected gaffe quickly went viral, sparking widespread reactions across social media. Footage of the moment began circulating online, with critics and commentators wasting no time ridiculing the congresswoman’s mistake, per Trending Politics.
“Looks like the Democratic Party is doing some serious dining at Taco Bell,” one user said on X.

“The only thing harder than their farts is their utter incompetence. Democrats stink at everything, policies, leadership, you name it. Republicans are out here making moves, while these clowns just keep blowing hot air,” another user wrote.

“Hilarious. And she’s the proposed leader of the American Communist Party. This should be fun to watch..” another user said.
This latest blunder adds to a growing list of verbal missteps made by Ocasio-Cortez throughout her political career.
She has previously drawn scrutiny for statements such as her claim that the world would end in 12 years due to climate change.
“Millennials and Gen Z and all these folks that come after us are looking up, and we’re like, ‘The world is going to end in 12 years if we don’t address climate change, and your biggest issue is how are we gonna pay for it?’ ” she said in 2019.
“’This is our World War Two.’ Right @AOC, because 60 million people have been killed, and a genocidal regime has engineered the Holocaust. But please keep lecturing Americans,” Sebastian Gorka said at the time in response to Ocasio-Cortez’s comments.

Her latest slip-up has reignited discussions about her communication skills and overall political credibility.
Critics argue that such blunders undermine her attempts to present herself as a serious and capable leader.
Supporters of Ocasio-Cortez, however, have downplayed the incident, dismissing it as an innocent mistake.
Despite this, the internet reaction has been relentless, with countless memes and jokes emerging in response to her verbal error.
Ocasio-Cortez’s latest gaffe is similar to one by House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY), who mistakenly used the word “fart” instead of “fight” in January when House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) was reelected.
