How great would it be to have to pay exactly zero dollars in federal income taxes?
Pretty awesome, right?
Well, that’s exactly what President Trump wants to make happen for middle class Americans.
According to Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, President Trump’s goal is “no tax” for individuals who make less than $150,000 per year.

No income taxes for those making under $150k would be a great move. it will help so many people and that policy could also stimulate the economy.

From Live Mint:
United States Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick has claimed that US President Donald Trump’s “goal” is “no tax” for anyone earning below $150,000 annually.
Speaking to CBS on March 12, Lutnick said, “how about no tax on tips? how about no tax on overtime? How about no social security? How about all those things — these are the kind of thoughts that will change America. I know what his (Donald Trump) goal is… no tax, for anybody who makes less than $150,000 a year. That’s his goal. That’s what I’m working for.”
If this happens, it would be a huge game-changer for many Americans.
Middle-class folks, imagine actually being able to keep all of the money that you earn.
This plan is garnering a lot of support from patriots:
This will likely be one of the most popular pieces of legislation to ever pass in American history. https://t.co/gkXrKgVaVI

However, some people would rather see income tax abolished entirely, regardless of tax bracket:
Take it up to $500k and make it inflation adjusted. Or better yet scrap it altogether. It was originally set at 4% on incomes over $1 million in like 1913 which would be like $90 million today.

Others are questioning the idea altogether:
Why not? I disagree with this. All Americans should be required to fund the government. It can’t just fall on the minority of Americans who make over $150k. Why should they pay for OUR government? When you don’t pay taxes you have no incentive to keep taxes or spending low. Why…

That's not workable. Everyone should pay SOME taxes, but a flat percentage would be more fair than the progressive system we have now.

What are your thoughts?
Would you like to see income tax abolished?
