Superstar Upsets Fans With Surprise Support for Tucker Carlson, Christianity
Gwen Stefani ignited controversy among her fanbase after publicly praising a Tucker Carlson interview with “The Chosen” actor Jonathan Roumie on social media.
The 55-year-old singer’s endorsement of the conversation about Christianity sparked immediate backlash from followers who objected to her apparent support of the ex-Fox News personality.
“Wow Jonathan Roumie, you are a powerful inspirational human, what an enlightening intelligent beautiful interview thank you for being you gx,” Stefani wrote on X, sharing the 90-minute discussion between Carlson and Roumie, who portrays Jesus Christ in the popular series “The Chosen.”
The interview, released at the beginning of Lent, featured the two Catholics discussing their spiritual journeys and beliefs. While Stefani, who has been open about her Catholic faith, appeared moved by the conversation, numerous fans expressed disappointment and anger over her decision to share content featuring Carlson.
Critics quickly flooded her post with complaints. One longtime fan wrote, “Gwen as a long time fan you’re making it harder and harder to keep supporting you please don’t platform Tucker Carlson the Russian propagandist good lord.”
Another now-deleted comment read, “You honestly need a reality check God this is heartbreaking.”
Some responses took a more political tone, with one user claiming Stefani was “in her Trump area,” while another suggested they “knew she was a right wing grifter when she started promoting a bible app.”

This isn’t the first time Stefani’s faith-related content has drawn attention. The New York Post reported that she faced criticism in December for promoting “Hallow,” a prayer and meditation app with a premium subscription cost of $70 annually.
Actor Chris Pratt has also been featured on the platform, suggesting a growing trend of celebrities openly embracing faith-based digital tools despite potential public relations risks.
Many supporters defended the “Hollaback Girl” singer’s right to express her religious beliefs, despite the negative reactions. “Thank you for sharing! What a beautiful message from an equally beautiful soul. Love you Gwen. Never change,” one person said.

The Post highlighted another defender who pointed out, “He’s a Catholic and Gwen is a Catholic and it’s the beginning of Lent. Why can’t everyone just be themselves without all the presumption and judgement??”
One fan appreciated how Stefani’s post revealed broader cultural tensions: “Gwen, thank you for posting this and allowing the world to see how unhinged people have gotten over politics. Just take a look at the responses from your ‘fans’ in here.”
That same fan later added, “I’m same age as Gwen and I remember when No Doubt was blowing up, no one cared what their favorite artists politics were. We appreciated the art for what it is/was [sic].”
“I’m not sure where or how all that changed. I don’t like it though.”
Gwen, thank you for posting this and allowing the world to see how unhinged people have gotten over politics. Just take a look at the responses from your "fans" in here. I love you because you're an OG OC badass. Hate to see ur fans lash out because you lauded an interview

I know. It’s hilarious seeing these “fans” meltdown over a simple post she made supporting a friend. Nothing to do with Tucker lol. These folks must have severely low emotional IQ to somehow be offended by this 😂

Stefani has demonstrated her commitment to her Catholic faith in various ways throughout her life. Most notably, Page Six reported that she waited years to marry country star Blake Shelton until she received an official annulment from the Vatican from her previous marriage.
