Ogles Files Resolution After Censure Vote
Apparently, Democrats have decided that the House of Representatives is now an extension of their favorite campus protest, complete with chanting, theatrics, and total disregard for decorum. Rep. Andy Ogles, R-Tenn., has had enough of the circus and is taking action, filing a resolution to strip committee assignments from the Democrats who turned the House floor into a left-wing singalong session.
This all started when Rep. Al Green, D-Texas, got himself censured after making a scene during President Donald Trump’s joint address to Congress. Instead of taking the reprimand like an adult, Green doubled down, and his Democratic colleagues rushed to his defense—not by debating policy or making a coherent argument, but by gathering around him and singing “We Shall Overcome.” You know, because throwing a tantrum after disrupting an official government proceeding is somehow equivalent to the civil rights movement.
House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., tried multiple times to restore order, but the Democrats weren’t interested. Eventually, Johnson had to call a recess just to get the spectacle under control. Meanwhile, Republicans on the floor rightfully called out the left’s behavior as an embarrassment. But the Democrats didn’t care—they were too busy making sure CNN and MSNBC got their melodramatic footage for the evening news.
Ogles, like any sane person watching this nonsense unfold, decided enough was enough. His resolution directs the House Sergeant-at-Arms to identify exactly which members ignored the speaker’s directive and then strip them of their committee assignments for the remainder of the 119th Congress. That means less influence for the disruptors and, hopefully, a wake-up call that the House isn’t a stage for their political theater.
Of course, Ogles didn’t stop there. He called out the root of the problem—Democrats’ complete refusal to accept political reality. “The failed policies of Joe Biden is why they lost the House, why they lost the Senate, why they lost the presidency,” Ogles told Fox News Digital. “They can lick their wounds all day, but they still have to behave on the House floor.” Translation: The American people rejected your party, so maybe try winning elections instead of throwing tantrums.
Green, for his part, made it clear he has zero regrets. In fact, he admitted that his outburst wasn’t just an emotional reaction—it was intentional. He claimed it was about healthcare, because of course, every Democratic stunt has to be tied back to some vague social justice narrative. Never mind the fact that Republicans just won a sweeping election, and Green’s shouting fit had nothing to do with policy and everything to do with his inability to accept reality.
And let’s be honest—if a Republican had pulled a stunt like this during one of Biden’s speeches, Democrats would have wasted no time calling for ethics investigations, media outrage, and demands for expulsion. But since it’s one of their own, it’s suddenly “brave” and “principled.” The double standard couldn’t be more obvious.
This isn’t about one congressman’s outburst. It’s about the broader left-wing meltdown over losing power. Democrats are so used to getting their way, so accustomed to weaponizing institutions in their favor, that they simply cannot handle being on the losing end of democracy. So instead of governing, they act out like children, hoping that their noise drowns out the fact that voters rejected them.
Ogles’ resolution is the right move. If Democrats want to treat the House like a street protest, they shouldn’t be given the privilege of serving on committees. Maybe if they spent less time staging dramatic performances and more time actually working, they wouldn’t be in this position to begin with.
