Democrats’ Viral ‘Choose Your Fighter’ Video Sparks Conservative Mockery
A recently shared video featuring House Democrats has drawn widespread criticism from conservatives on social media.
The clip, which depicts several lawmakers mimicking video game fighters, quickly went viral and was met with mockery from critics who saw it as an awkward attempt at engagement.
The video includes Democratic representatives Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (NY), Jasmine Crockett (TX), Lauren Underwood (IL), Katherine Clark (MA), Judy Chu (CA) and Susie Lee (NV). In the footage, each congresswoman appears with a label highlighting their accomplishments while performing exaggerated fighting poses.
The video was met with swift backlash from conservatives on social media, with many mocking the Democrats for their behavior, especially following their reaction to President Donald Trump’s recent address to Congress. Many critics pointed to the contrast between the video and Democrats’ refusal to stand or clap for various moments during the speech.
The White House’s rapid response social media account reacted to the video on X, posting, “Democrats Not Be Cringe Challenge. Level: Impossible.”
Conservative commentator Ryan James Girdusky wrote, “There are just some people who don’t have anyone in their lives willing to tell them to stop.”
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) linked the video to the Democrats’ behavior during Trump’s congressional address, writing, “Trump Deranged Democrats release ‘choose your fighter skit’ after refusing to stand and clap for a child with cancer during President Trump’s address to Congress. Democrats have sunk so low that I’m actually starting to feel sorry for them.”
She also called the video “pitiful.”
“Democrats keep outdoing themselves with dumbness. Who is getting paid big consulting bucks to come up with this stuff??” wrote X user Liberty Belle.
Rep. Virginia Foxx (R-NC) sarcastically commented, “I’ll take ‘Reasons why Democrats are not in the majority’ for $1,000.”
“This makes me so happy to see this… because now I KNOW we will never lose another election ever again!” wrote X account Libercrat.
“Vote them all out this is so embarrassing when they voted against keeping boys out of girls sports,” user Lisa N commented.
One user joked, “Billy Blanks called and asked for his Tae Bo videos back.”
“Hey @Nintendo I know you guys like to sue. I believe the Democratic party has infringed on your IP, as well as defamed you with this performance,” wrote another.
Democrats have consistently expressed opposition to Trump and his policies through social media and public statements. Since Trump’s return to the White House, conservatives have highlighted inconsistencies in Democratic messaging, particularly their previous emphasis on unity, acceptance and inclusivity.
Many social media users referenced the Democrats’ actions during Trump’s address to Congress, where multiple representatives engaged in protests. One Democratic member was escorted out of the chamber and later censured on Thursday.
Additionally, some Democrats continued to protest during Rep. Al Green’s (D-TX) censure, directly defying House Speaker Mike Johnson’s (R-LA) instructions to cease disruptions.
In response to the viral clip, the White House released its own “fighter” video titled “America Chose Its Fighters Last November,” featuring a montage of Trump administration officials.
