Trump Issues Final Warning for Hamas to Release All Hostages or ‘You are Dead’
President Donald Trump escalated his rhetoric against Hamas, issuing what he described as a “last warning” to the terrorist organization to release all hostages immediately or face severe military action.
This ultimatum comes as the White House confirmed direct talks with Hamas aimed at securing the release of remaining captives after more than 500 days in captivity.
“Shalom Hamas means Hello and Goodbye – You can choose. Release all of the Hostages now, not later, and immediately return all of the dead bodies of the people you murdered, or it is OVER for you,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform, employing his characteristic direct communication style with foreign adversaries.
In his strongly-worded message, Trump emphasized that his administration is “sending Israel everything it needs to finish the job” and warned that “not a single Hamas member will be safe” if they fail to comply with his demands.
His message referred to Hamas members as “sick and twisted” for keeping the bodies of deceased hostages.
The president’s statement follows a meeting with former hostages, which appears to have strengthened his resolve.
He directly addressed Hamas leadership, telling them to leave Gaza “now […] while you still have a chance,” suggesting potential military action that could target the group’s remaining leadership structure.
Trump also issued a stark message to Gaza residents: “A beautiful Future awaits, but not if you hold Hostages. If you do, you are DEAD! Make a SMART decision.” This dual approach of threats toward Hamas and promises of reconstruction reflects the administration’s carrot-and-stick strategy for the region.
This latest threat continues a pattern of increasingly forceful language from Trump. Last month, he warned there would be “all hell” to pay if Hamas did not return captives, giving the group a one-week deadline, TTOA previously reported.
Reports have indicated that that earlier ultimatum produced limited results, with the release of three hostages including American-Israeli Sagui Dekel-Chen. The White House confirmed that U.S. hostage affairs envoy Adam Boehler has been authorized to engage in direct talks with Hamas in Doha.
This marks a significant shift from previous negotiations, which relied on third-party Arab leaders as intermediaries between U.S. and Israeli negotiators and the terrorist organization.
When questioned about these talks, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt stated, “The special envoy who engaged in this negotiation does have the authority to talk to anyone. Israel was consulted on this matter.”
She added that dialogue with various global actors is sometimes necessary “to do what’s in the best interest of the American people,” according to the Daily Mail.
The outlet further noted that Hamas previously dismissed Trump’s ultimatums. Following his February warning, senior spokesperson Sami Abu Zuhri claimed that “the language of threats has no value and further complicates matters.”
The Hamas representative boldly suggested that Trump needed to “remember that there is an agreement that must be respected by both parties.”
Israeli authorities reported that 24 living hostages remain in captivity, along with the bodies of 35 others. Among those still held is Edan Alexander of Tenafly, New Jersey, believed to be the last living American hostage.
He appeared in a Hamas propaganda video in November 2024. Israel maintains that four other American hostages died in captivity during the ordeal that began with the Oct. 7 terror attack.
Daily Mail highlighted that the administration’s intensified approach comes just days after Secretary of State Marco Rubio invoked “emergency authority” to deliver an additional $4 billion in security assistance to Israel, demonstrating the administration’s commitment to backing Israeli military operations with substantial resources.
The outlet noted that Trump met with eight released hostages on Wednesday, including Iair Horn, Omer Shem Tov, Eli Sharabi, Keith Siegel, Aviva Siegel, Naama Levy, Doron Steinbrecher, and Noa Argamani.
“The President listened intently to their heartbreaking stories. The hostages thanked President Trump for his steadfast efforts to bring all of the hostages home,” according to Leavitt.
This development occurs as Trump continues to promote his controversial vision for Gaza’s future, which he has described as potentially becoming the “Riviera of the Middle East.”
