Iconic Actor Discusses Supporting Trump, Hollywood Industry

Actor Zachary Levi Discusses Supporting Trump and His Views on Hollywood

Hollywood actor Zachary Levi recently joined Matt Walsh on “The Matt Walsh Show” to discuss his support for President Donald Trump and his views on the current state of the entertainment industry.

Levi shared that from a young age, he wanted to act to bring joy to others. As his career progressed, he felt a responsibility to openly support Trump’s candidacy despite the risks of cancel culture.

The actor noted that his decision to speak out was met with more positivity than negativity. He emphasized that good and bad individuals exist on both sides of the political spectrum and that neither party has a monopoly on virtue.

Levi admitted that he had not found many political candidates inspiring throughout his life. Initially, he was intrigued by Trump’s outsider status but had concerns about his demeanor. However, he was never going to support Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, or Kamala Harris.

“I was intrigued by Trump in that he wasn’t a career politician, but I had enough of him and his brashness and kind of bullishness and, you know, the things that most people take umbrage with. But it certainly wasn’t Hillary [Clinton], [Joe] Biden, or Kamala [Harris],” Levi said.

He revealed that if the Democratic Party had allowed Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to run, he might have considered voting for him. However, once RFK Jr. was sidelined, Levi aligned himself with Trump, who had Kennedy’s endorsement.

The actor pointed to the near-assassination of Trump as a pivotal moment. He believed the event had divine significance and saw it as a miraculous survival that profoundly changed Trump.

According to Levi, the assassination attempt humbled Trump in a way that had never been seen before. He stated that he needed a leader who had undergone such transformation, and the alternatives were unacceptable.

Levi said he was willing to risk his career to support Trump because he saw the country headed in a dangerous direction. He felt that standing by silently while Kamala Harris potentially took office would have been morally wrong, per the Daily Wire.

Despite his vocal support for Trump, Levi stated that he had not been canceled, although some in Hollywood had distanced themselves from him. He acknowledged losing some friends and professional connections but remained firm in his beliefs.

He credited his team for standing by him and said he still maintained relationships with many in the industry. He remained busy with work, including film, television, and podcast projects, as well as preparing for fatherhood.

Levi then turned to the state of Hollywood, expressing concerns over the industry’s reliance on sequels and reboots. He hoped to push for more original storytelling.

He observed that Hollywood executives face pressure from both financial and ideological forces. He argued that many entertainment leaders prioritize profitability and adherence to a sociopolitical agenda.

Levi suggested that while Hollywood is complicit in advancing certain agendas, these ideas do not necessarily originate within the industry. He believed executives are often trying to align themselves with trends to avoid backlash.

He also spoke about his new film, “The Unbreakable Boy,” which he said authentically represents autism. He described it as a grounded and heartfelt story that he was particularly proud of.

Additionally, actress Patricia Heaton announced she would appear in Levi’s film. Walsh and Levi also discussed artificial intelligence in Hollywood, his studio project in Texas, and more in their conversation.
