Trump Delivers Crushing Blow to Terminated ‘Woke’ Coast Guard Commander

Trump Evicts ‘Woke’ Coast Guard Commander on Three Hours Notice After Being Terminated Last Month

In a dramatic turn of events, the Trump administration evicted former U.S. Coast Guard Commandant Admiral Linda L. Fagan from her government-funded quarters on Tuesday, giving her just three hours’ notice.

Fagan, the first woman to hold the highest-ranking position in the U.S. Coast Guard, was removed following her controversial support for diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) policies, which were cited as one of the reasons for her dismissal.

Fagan had been serving as Coast Guard Commandant under the Biden administration since her nomination in April 2022. However, after President Donald Trump took office, she was swiftly removed from her post on Jan. 20, shortly after his inauguration, according to the Daily Mail.

The move was part of a broader campaign by the Trump administration to remove military leaders they deemed too focused on DEI programs at the expense of operational efficiency and national security priorities.

Despite her removal from the post, Fagan continued to reside at her government-funded home on Joint Base Anacostia Bolling, granted a 60-day housing waiver by the Coast Guard. On Tuesday, the situation took a sudden turn when Fagan was instructed to vacate the property.

At 2 p.m. on that day, Homeland Security officials informed Acting Commandant Kevin Lundy that Fagan had just three hours to vacate the residence.

A friend of Fagan’s described the eviction as “petty and personal,” according to reports from NBC News. The Coast Guard had initially extended Fagan a 60-day grace period, but Homeland Security officials acted swiftly in reversing that decision.

A senior adviser to the Department of Homeland Security, Sean Plankey, reportedly instructed Fagan’s team to leave the house unlocked so that photographs could be taken of the property’s interior. However, Fagan rejected this request, asserting that she did not authorize anyone to enter her home, even in her absence.

In response, Lundy reportedly informed Plankey’s team that such an action would be considered trespassing.

Fagan eventually complied with the order to vacate, though reports indicate that many of her personal belongings were left behind. She spent the night at the home of friends, while U.S. Transportation Command took responsibility for moving her possessions.

A Department of Homeland Security official claimed that Fagan was relocated to a different residence, though the source was unsure whether the eviction order came directly from the president, the Daily Mail reports.

The eviction followed Fagan’s recent dismissal from her role as Coast Guard Commandant. Acting Secretary of Homeland Security Benjamine C. Huffman acknowledged her “long and illustrious career” but emphasized her “leadership deficiencies,” operational failures and inability to secure the U.S. border.

Fagan’s focus on DEI initiatives, according to officials, detracted from her ability to effectively manage the Coast Guard and address key security issues.

Fagan’s defenders, however, have criticized her removal, particularly her ouster after being the first female admiral to serve in the prestigious position. She had expressed her commitment to DEI, stating in a 2023 interview with Military Families Magazine that “diverse work teams outperform homogeneous teams,” arguing that diversity fosters stronger, more resilient teams.

Her supporters argue that her leadership in this area should not have been a cause for her removal.

  • She, just like MacArthur, and Milley bucked/disobeyed the orders of the Commander in Chief and were fired. Simple as that. Even 5 Star General MacArthur got fired by Truman. The Coast Guard Commandant did not do her job in Guarding the Border.
