‘I Knew You’d Win’: Trump Epically Trolls Harris With AI-Generated Spoof of His Viral Convo With Obama at Jimmy Carter’s Funeral
President-elect Donald Trump has stirred controversy by sharing a manipulated video featuring an AI-generated conversation between himself and former President Barack Obama at Jimmy Carter’s funeral.
The fabricated dialogue, posted on Truth Social, depicts the two presidents discussing Trump’s victory over Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential race.
The artificial exchange begins as Obama takes his seat beside Trump at the Jan. 9 funeral service, with a funeral dirge playing in the background.
The AI-generated Obama voice declares, “I knew you’d win,” to which Trump responds, “Come on, anyone could beat her.”
The original footage of Trump and Obama’s cordial interaction at Carter’s funeral had already generated significant social media buzz, with speculation running rampant about their actual conversation.
Trump later addressed the genuine encounter during a Mar-a-Lago press conference with Fox News’ Peter Doocy, stating, “It did look very friendly.”
“Boy, they look like two people who like each other, and we probably do… I don’t know we just got along,” he said, as reported by Fox News.
The doctored video continues with the synthetic Obama voice criticizing President Biden’s initial decision to seek reelection, referencing Biden’s eventual withdrawal following what the video describes as a “disastrous debate performance” in June 2024.
The fake Obama laments, “He just didn’t want to leave, I did what I could to help [Kamala], she was horrendous.”
The spoof takes another jab at Democratic figures when Trump mentions Hillary Clinton’s lingering resentment toward Obama, followed by a cut to Clinton’s stern expression.
The video concludes as Vice President Harris and Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff enter the church, taking seats in front of Trump and Obama.
This latest social media provocation follows Trump’s pattern of using digital platforms to needle his political opponents.
Fox reported that just days before the funeral video, on Jan. 7, he posted a modified map showing Canada as part of the United States, captioned “Oh Canada!” in an apparent dig at Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
The outlet added that The Daily Show’s Desi Lydic highlighted the irony of the genuine funeral interaction, questioning the shift in Obama’s apparent attitude toward Trump.
Lydic quipped, “It’s a little weird for Obama though, right? To go from ‘this guy is future Hitler’ to ‘oh, man, cool story, future Hitler!’”
On Friday, the Daily Mail’s forensic lip reader Jeremy Freeman revealed that Trump most likely told Obama the pair needed to “find a quiet place” to address a “matter of importance.”
The conversation began with casual pleasantries, according to Freeman, as Obama allegedly remarked, “Yeah, yeah, I’m fine, yeah, fine, fine, fine. Listen to me. It’s a chore, a chore.”
Trump responded, “Yeah, right. I can’t think of anything that’s a chore.”
The exchange continued with Obama noting, “Maybe, even the… people, even if they aren’t happy, you will come across it, it’s a chore. Now, they can block the entrance, all right.”
In a particularly intriguing moment, Trump leaned toward Obama’s ear, saying, “I’ve pulled out of that. It’s the conditions. Can you imagine that?”
This prompted a laugh from Obama, after which Trump continued speaking.
Their discussion appeared to conclude with arrangements for a later meeting, with references to what the lip reader believed might have been the “foyer.”
