Trump Drops Unexpected Statement About H1B Visas as Elon-Vivek Controversy Intensifies

Trump Unveils Shock Stance on H1B Visas as Elon Musk, Vivek Ramaswamy Double Down on Theirs

In a stunning revelation that sheds new light on the final days of the Biden presidency, sources close to the president indicate he harbors deep regrets about choosing Merrick Garland as Attorney General – a decision that may have inadvertently paved the way for Donald Trump’s return to power.

According to sources who spoke with The Washington Post, Biden’s disappointment stems from what his team views as a critical miscalculation: Garland’s Justice Department aggressively pursued cases against Hunter Biden while investigations into Trump’s alleged misconduct proceeded at a slower pace.

The decision to appoint Garland came despite strong opposition from two of Biden’s closest confidants.

Former Senator Ted Kaufman and Mark Gitenstein had advocated for former Alabama Senator Doug Jones instead.

Ron Klain, Biden’s former chief of staff, had strongly recommended Garland for the position.

Democratic insiders argue that the Justice Department’s timing of Trump-related investigations proved crucial, Daily Mail outlined.

They contend that if legal proceedings regarding the alleged 2020 election interference and classified documents cases had moved more swiftly, Trump might have faced trial before the recent election, potentially altering the political landscape.

Adding to the complexity of Biden’s final chapter, sources reveal the president now questions his decision to step aside for Vice President Kamala Harris’s presidential run.

Both Biden and his advisers reportedly believe he could have secured another victory against Trump. They’ve remained diplomatic about Harris’s campaign performance, however.

Daily Mail further noted that some aides criticize Biden’s timing in withdrawing from the race, suggesting that holding onto his presidency for an extended period left Harris with insufficient time–just over three months–to prepare for her campaign.

Despite these setbacks, Biden’s tenure has garnered praise from some quarters.

Ted Kaufman highlighted the president’s achievements, noting, “He accomplished a hell of a lot in a very difficult situation.”

“Coming in after Trump with a bad economy, he still pulled people together,” he continued, adding, “He did all this on infrastructure, and all the stuff he did with a one-vote majority in the Senate.”

“Joe Biden did it with one vote.”

Critics like Connecticut Senator Richard Blumenthal, however, point out that Biden’s decision to seek reelection contradicted his initial promise of being a transitional president.

“I think his running again broke that concept — the conceptual underpinning of the theory that he would end the Trump appeal, he would defeat Trumpism and enable a new era,” Blumenthal argued.

Presidential historian Julian E. Zelizer suggests Biden’s traditional governing approach failed to address the nation’s deep-seated polarization.

“Winning includes not having your party being defeated by the person you essentially promised to expunge from American politics,” Zelizer said, per Daily Mail.

“President Biden and his supporters often yearn for a world that disappeared. You can’t actually govern the way you did in the 1970s in 2021.”

As Biden prepares for the transition, recent developments continue to shape his legacy.

His administration has agreed to halt the auctioning of border wall materials following intervention from Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, effectively preserving these resources for the incoming Trump administration.
