Trump Firebrand Lawyer Rumor Suggests Huge Shakeup on the Horizon

President-elect Donald Trump is reportedly considering a dramatic shift for his potential 2025 administration, weighing the appointment of his outspoken attorney Alina Habba as White House press secretary.

This marks what could be one of his first major staffing decisions for his anticipated return to office.

Mediaite confirmed that Habba, 40, is scheduled to fly to Palm Beach, Florida, for discussions with Trump about taking on the high-profile role, which would position her as the administration’s primary voice to the media and the American public.

The potential appointment would elevate Habba from courtroom defender to daily administration spokesperson, requiring her to navigate daily press briefings and serve as the face of Trump’s second term.

Daily Mail reported that campaign spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt is also under consideration for the position, though reports suggest Habba has emerged as the frontrunner.

The outlet went on to say that Habba’s journey to Trump’s inner circle began in 2021 when she joined his legal team after a chance meeting at his Bedminster, New Jersey, country club.

Since then, she has handled several high-stakes cases, including the E. Jean Carroll defamation suit that resulted in an $83 million verdict against Trump and the New York civil fraud case that led to a $454 million judgment currently under appeal.

Her tenure as Trump’s attorney has been marked by fierce advocacy and confrontational moments, including a notable clash with Judge Lewis Kaplan during the Carroll case, where she faced threats of detention after heated exchanges.

Despite these challenges, or perhaps because of her unwavering defense, Habba has become a rising star in Trump’s orbit.

Daily Mail noted that financial records show Trump’s Save America PAC invested significantly in Habba’s legal services, paying her firm nearly $2 million in 2022.

Her role expanded beyond the courtroom as she took on responsibilities as a senior campaign advisor in recent months.

Her public profile soared with speaking engagements at the Republican National Convention (RNC) and Trump’s Madison Square Garden rally prior to the 2024 election.

“Every attack on President Trump only strengthens our movement,” she said of Trump during the RNC. “The left’s madness. It’s only a sign of desperation.”

“Sham indictments and baseless allegations will not deter us because the only crime President Trump has committed is loving America,” she declared, “and America we are winning.”

Habba’s appearances at campaign events, particularly in swing states like Pennsylvania, have showcased her ability to energize crowds and articulate Trump’s message.

The potential press secretary has an unusual background for a political spokesperson, Daily Mail explained.

Born to Chaldean Catholic parents who fled persecution in Iraq during the 1980s, Habba began her career in fashion at Marc Jacobs before earning her law degree from Widener University in 2010.

Her legal career progressed from clerking for New Jersey Superior Court Judge Eugene Codey Jr. to establishing her own law firm.

Habba balances her professional life with family responsibilities, co-parenting two children, Chloe and Luke, from her previous marriage, alongside her current husband Centerpark CEO Gregg Reuben and his son Parker.
