Meet the 27-Year-Old Frontrunner to be Trump’s WH Press Secretary

Karoline Leavitt, a 27-year-old former Trump campaign staffer, is being considered for the role of White House press secretary after Donald Trump’s election victory.

Daily Mail reported that figures within the Trump world have praised Leavitt’s no-nonsense attitude, work ethic and ability to effectively communicate the president’s message.

She has especially been praised for being able to hold these attributes even in “hostile” media environments.

“She talks to everybody, not just Fox News, but goes on TV and takes incoming, which is a big part of the job, and then she hits back and is a very, very effective messenger,” an anonymous Trump confidante told the outlet.

“The president trusts her and trust is everything with him.”

Despite being a new mom, Leavitt quickly returned to the campaign trail after giving birth, impressing Trump with her commitment.

She has maintained a low profile in recent weeks, however.

Leavitt has previous experience working in the White House communications team under former press secretary Kayleigh McEnany, per Daily Mail.

Leavitt’s fiery clashes with journalists, including a high-profile incident where she was taken off the air by CNN’s Kasie Hunt, are seen as assets by Trump and his allies.

They believe her willingness to “punch back” against negative coverage is a valuable trait for the demanding press secretary role.

“She’s a star,” a friend of Trump revealed to Daily Mail.

While Trump is keeping his cards close to his chest regarding senior White House appointments, Leavitt is emerging as a frontrunner for the position

Other potential candidates include Trump’s lawyer Alina Habba, former campaign communications director Steven Cheung and senior adviser Jason Miller.

Mediaite confirmed that Habba, 40, is scheduled for discussions with Trump about taking on the high-profile role; one that would position her as the administration’s primary voice to the media and the American public.

The potential appointment would elevate Habba from courtroom defender to daily administration spokesperson.

Both Habba and Leavitt appear to be frontrunners for the role at this time; a high-stakes position that would require the ability to navigate daily press briefings and serve as the face of Trump’s second term.

Leavitt’s youth and experience working in the Trump administration are viewed as advantages, as the president-elect is said to favor staff who can withstand the rigorous schedule of a press secretary.

TTOA previously reported that Habba’s journey to Trump’s inner circle began in 2021 when she joined his legal team after a chance meeting at his Bedminster, New Jersey, country club.

She has since handled several high-stakes cases, including the E. Jean Carroll defamation suit that resulted in an $83 million verdict against Trump and the New York civil fraud case that led to a $454 million judgment currently under appeal.
