Elon Musk Drops Scathing Response to Harris’ ‘Kill Twitter’ Plot: ‘This is War’
In a stunning revelation that could reshape the narrative around foreign electoral influence, newly obtained documents expose a coordinated effort by British political operatives to dismantle Elon Musk’s X platform while maintaining close ties to Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign.
Investigative journalists Paul Thacker and Matt Taibbi have uncovered internal documents from the Center for Countering Digital Hate (CCDH) that explicitly outline plans to “kill Musk’s Twitter.”
Musk, who is not one to mince words, issued a brief but pointed statement in response to these revelations: “This is war.”
The documents reveal the organization’s deep connections to British Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s Labour Party and its strategic alignment with the Harris campaign.
The CCDH, founded by Morgan McSweeney–the architect behind Starmer’s rise to power–shares leadership with Labour Together, one of the party’s primary think tanks.
The exposed documents reveal that “kill Musk’s Twitter” appears as the top priority in the organization’s monthly agenda notes dating back to early 2024.
The investigation uncovered that Labour Party operatives have been actively involved in shaping Harris’s election strategy.
In an unprecedented move, the British political party plans to deploy approximately 100 staff members to crucial battleground states, including Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Virginia.
This operation will be spearheaded by Sofia Patel, targeting key swing voter demographics.
The scope of this collaboration became evident during a private conference held last summer, attended by senior White House advisors, State Department officials and representatives from Media Matters for America.
A staff member from Congressman Adam Schiff’s office was also present at the gathering, per Thacker and Taibbi’s bombshell report.
The documents suggest that the CCDH’s strategy to target X involves undermining the platform’s advertising revenue while leveraging European Union regulations.
This approach aligns with ongoing pressure from the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), which recently announced sanctions against Musk for declining to testify about his 2022 acquisition of the platform, despite his testimony being rescheduled for October.
The collaboration between Labour and the Harris campaign has grown so significant that Politico has dubbed them “sister parties.”
The relationship extends beyond social media strategy, with Labour Together operatives providing direct election strategy guidance to both Vice President Harris and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz.
Senator Amy Klobuchar, who has proposed multiple bills addressing internet speech under the banner of combating misinformation, appears to be aligned with these efforts.
Critics argue these legislative proposals could potentially restrict online free speech rights.
