Exclusive: UC Santa Cruz Forces COVID Vaccines on Students

As the flu and cold season approaches, a California university is mandating that all of its students receive mandatory vaccinations.

The University of California Santa Cruz sent out a massive email to its students yesterday informing them of the school’s vaccination policies regarding the flu and COVID-19.

The email, which was obtained by Resist the Mainstream, states that it is “essential” for students to follow in order to ensure everyone’s safety.

“As we approach respiratory virus season, we want to remind you about the university’s Flu and COVID-19 vaccination requirements,” the letter begins. “Staying up to date with your immunizations is essential for keeping both you and our campus community healthy.”

The university requested that all students receive their vaccinations before Nov. 1, noting that they were “mandatory.” It did provide instructions for students who wished to decline being vaccinated.

The letter also includes a copy of the university’s flu and COVID-19 vaccination policy, which Resist the Mainstream has reviewed.

It emphasizes that the policy was updated to reflect the latest guidelines from the CDC which it recommends ages six months and up receiving “1 dose of an updated COVID-19 vaccine to protect against serious illness from COVID-19.”

“The University of California uniform policy requires yearly flu vaccination or declination for all UC students, trainees, personnel and all others who work, live, and/or learn in any of the University’s locations or otherwise participate in person in University Programs,” it states.

Students are required to upload the required documentation through an online portal. For those students who decided to decline, they must download special forms. Despite students submitting the forms, they are still subject to being denied their request and forced to be vaccinated against their wishes or kicked off the physical campus, according to a university form titled “Policy on Vaccination Programs with Interim Program Attachments.”

“If an Exception request is denied, the Covered Individual will be notified and, thereafter, will be expected to promptly become Up-To-Date or will be denied Physical Presence at the relevant University Location(s) or Program(s),” the 60-page document reads.

While their forms are under review, the university could force non-vaccinated students to wear masks and receive “routine testing.” The institution also has the right to subject them to “more restrictive COVID-19 vaccination requirements,” in addition if it sees fit.

UC Santa Cruz’s announcement comes as California has began to implement mask mandates in several counties, as TTOA previously reported.

The university’s policy sheds light on student’s rights. While the pro-choice movement declares, “My body, my choice,” the same can’t be said for students who wish to not be injected with a vaccine that has come under fire for causing life-changing symptoms.
