The mainstream media will take absolutely any excuse that they can to attack a proud conservative like Senator JD Vance (R-OH). They showed this once again after his debate against Minnesota Governor Tim Walz (D), when the press stooped so low as to attack Vance simply for having a beard.
In the wake of Tuesday night’s debate, the publication Politico interviewed a body language expert who worked with the FBI. This expert went through eight body language cues from the debate.
After bragging about his time with the national security division’s elite behavioral analysis program, this so-called body language expert claimed that Vance’s beard “matters.” The expert added that the beard can be seen as threatening by women. The expert claimed that it conveys “aggression and opposition to feminist ideals.”
From Politico:
One of the first bits of nonverbal communication to appear in the debate was on JD Vance’s face: his beard. As POLITICO Magazine has noted before, Vance is the first White House wannabe to wear facial hair in 80 years. Our appearance is fundamental to our body language, and research indicates that voters see beards as (surprise, surprise) more masculine. That can be positive to some, reading as strength and competence. But to others, especially women, it can be negative, conveying aggression and opposition to feminist ideals.
What?!
It should be noted that Walz was caught in multiple lies during this debate. Specifically, he was called out for lying about being in Tiananmen Square during the protests that took place there in 1989. In reality, he didn’t arrive in China until months later.
Despite this, it’s Vance’s beard that the media is focusing on. You truly can’t make this stuff up.
The Mainstream Media Is Grasping At Straws
This just goes to show that the mainstream media is grasping at straws these days. Even the super-liberal New York Times could not deny that Vance trounced Walz in this debate. Since the media can’t go after Vance based on his performance, they’ve resorted to attacking his beard in a desperate attempt to make him look bad.
“Beardgate” is yet another example of why so many Americans have lost all trust in the media. Indeed, it shows just how biased the mainstream media has become against conservatives in every way.
This may end up coming back to bite the media in the end, however. The race between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump is currently so close that it could come down to Independent voters. Unlike liberals, this voting block has had enough of the media’s bias against Trump and anyone who supports him. Reading ridiculous stories that attack Vance for having a beard might be enough to send many Independents over the edge. Indeed, it could ultimately push them to vote for Trump.
If the American press wants to be taken seriously again, perhaps they should stop attacking conservatives for something as simple as having a beard. In the end, Vance should take “beardgate” as a badge of honor. It shows that he performed so well in the debate that the mainstream media was left with nothing of substance to attack him on.
Key Takeaways:
- Vance gets attacked by the media for having a beard.
- A body language expert claimed that the beard conveys “aggression and opposition to feminist ideals.”
- The mainstream media’s bias against conservatives has gone too far.
