It’s been ten days since the latest assassination attempt on Donald Trump. This attempt was narrowly thwarted at his golf course in Palm Beach, Florida. It came just 64 days after Trump was shot in the ear during another assassination attempt at a Pennsylvania rally.
These two incidents were the first assassination attempts on the life of a current or former president in over forty years. This has led to speculation about whether or not Trump is getting sufficient Secret Service protection at a time when liberal vitriol against him is at an all-time high.
Now, a whistleblower has come forward to claim that Trump was “effectively forced” to “cancel” an event in the crucial swing state of Wisconsin. The whistleblower alleged that this happened because the Secret Service did not have “sufficient assets to secure” the rally.
Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) wrote about this whistleblower in a letter to Acting Secret Service Director Ronald Rowe.
From Breitbart News:
“I write concerning new whistleblower allegations that the U.S. Secret Service effectively forced the Trump campaign to cancel an upcoming event in Wisconsin,” Hawley wrote. “This new information calls into question your recent public statements regarding the level of security your agency is providing to the former president. It also suggests that the Secret Service’s inability to fully protect former President Trump may be affecting the conduct of the presidential campaign.”At your recent press conference on September 20, you stated that former President Trump is receiving “the highest level of Secret Service protection” and “he’s getting everything” that “the current president has with respect to Secret Service assets.” That same night, Secret Service secured a rally for Vice President Harris in Madison, Wisconsin.
Hawley went on to say that despite this, the Secret Service informed Trump that they “did not have sufficient assets to secure a potential campaign rally in Wisconsin” for the former president.
“Other whistleblowers with knowledge of Secret Service planning protocols allege that failure to provide protection for a major public event is highly unusual and that a sitting president would never be denied resources in this way,” Hawley wrote.
Americans Have Lost Faith In The Secret Service
In the wake of July’s assassination attempt, many have lost faith in the Secret Service’s abilities to protect Trump. The 20-year-old wannabe assassin was flagged as a suspicious person over an hour before the attempt on Trump’s life. Despite this, he was still able to wound a former president and kill a rally attendee. Indeed, he did all of this right under the Secret Service’s nose.
Respect for the Secret Service plummeted even more on September 15. It was then that another wannabe assassin staked out Trump’s golf course for 12 hours with an AK-47. Thankfully, the Secret Service was eventually able to thwart this attack at the last minute. However, the would-be assassin still got far closer than he should have to making his murderous dreams a reality.
The Secret Service has claimed that Trump and Harris are given the same level of protection. If the Secret Service can secure Wisconsin rallies for Harris but not for Trump, however, it appears that this is not the case at all. It would be horrifying to think that the race could be impacted by the Secret Service prioritizing the safety of one candidate over the other.
As a former president, Trump should be able to count on getting the best possible protection from the Secret Service. Unfortunately, that does not seem to be what he is getting. Here’s hoping that the Secret Service changes that immediately.
Key Takeaways:
- Trump “forced” to cancel a rally in the swing state of Wisconsin.
- He allegedly had to do this because the Secret Service couldn’t secure the rally.
- Meanwhile, the Secret Service secured a Wisconsin rally for Harris.
