Harris Hit Hard: Resurfaced Video Could Sabotage Her in Key Battleground State

Harris Promises Not to Ban Fracking as Video Showing the Opposite Resurfaces

Vice President Kamala Harris is facing backlash as another video has resurfaced contradicting her latest claims about fracking.

A video from five years ago was shared to social media over the weekend from an appearance the then-California senator had on the “Tonight Show” with Jimmy Fallon where she promised to ban fracking if elected.

“Climate change is the single greatest threat facing our world today. That’s why I am committed to passing a Green New Deal, creating clean jobs and finally putting an end to fracking once and for all,” she said in her 2019 appearance, per Fox News.

After that video went viral, another video resurfaced showing Harris not back down from from her position on the issue.

During the time, Harris was vocal about banning fracking as she campaigned to be the Democratic presidential nominee for the 2020 election.

In her CNN interview last month, she stated that she would not seek to ban fracking, the total opposite of her 2019 campaign stance.

“What I have seen is that we can grow, and we can increase a clean energy economy without banning fracking,” said Harris.

The issue of fracking has become a focal point in Pennsylvania, a critical swing state where the economy relies on natural gas extraction.

RealClearPolitics indicates that Harris holds a small lead in Pennsylvania, with 48.3 percent to former President Donald Trump’s 47.6 percent.

During their ABC debate, Trump said that “fracking in Pennsylvania will end on day one” if she becomes president.

“My position is that we have got to invest in diverse sources of energy so we reduce our reliance on foreign oil,” she said at the debate. “We have had the largest increase in domestic oil production in history because of an approach that recognizes that we cannot over rely on foreign oil.”

Harris’ new stance on fracking comes as she has been ridiculed for her flip-flopping on policies, despite telling CNN’s Dana Bush that her policies “have not changed.”

Several videos have resurfaced showcasing the vice president’s switch in policies. Resist the Mainstream covered Harris’ change in support for Trump’s border wall, something that she has been outspoken about.

She also stated that she would support stronger security at the southern border, despite the Biden-Harris administration allowing millions of illegal immigrants into the country.

After appearing as an opponent of the Second Amendment, Harris revealed during the debate that she was a gun owner, despite looking to push legislation to ban semiautomatic weapons and supporting a buyback program.
