Elon Musk Poses One Question After Presidential Debate, Drops Surprising Remark About Harris

Elon Musk Maintains Support for Trump Despite Harris ‘Exceeding’ Expectations During Debate, Poses One Question for Voters

In a fiery face-off that kept viewers on the edge of their seats, President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris went head-to-head in their first debate Tuesday night.

The back-and-forth left political analysts and social media users buzzing about the implications for the upcoming election, with various prominent voices like Elon Musk weighing in on the ongoing internet debate over who ultimately won.

Musk, who has been a vocal supporter of Trump over Harris in recent weeks, took to X to rip the moderators of the debate; a critique that angered many viewers who watched the event live.

He then acknowledged that Harris performed far better than expected.

“While I don’t think the debate hosts were fair to [Trump], [Harris] exceeded most people’s expectations tonight,” the tech mogul said following the debate.

“That said,” he added, “when it comes to getting things done, not just saying nice-sounding words, I strongly believe that Trump will do a far better job.”

“If Kamala can do great things, why hasn’t she? Biden rarely shows up for work, so she’s basically in charge already,” Musk continued, reiterating Trump’s closing statement in the ABC debate.

“The question comes down to this: do you want current trends to continue for 4 more years or do you want change?”

The highly anticipated event quickly turned contentious as Harris attempted to rattle Trump by referencing the size of his rallies and highlighting his ongoing legal battles.

Trump, not one to back down, fired back with accusations about Harris’s immigration policies, claiming that millions of illegal migrants were entering the country under her watch.

Throughout the debate, Harris maintained a somewhat composed demeanor, often shaking her head and smiling in response to Trump’s assertions.

At one point, she was seen mouthing “that’s not true” when Trump labeled her a “Marxist.”

In contrast, Trump appeared visibly agitated, frequently interrupting Harris during her speaking time.

The debate took an unexpected turn when Trump made a claim about illegal migrants in Ohio.

“They’re eating the pets of the people that live there,” he stated, adding, “If she becomes president… we’ll end up being Venezuela on steroids.”

Harris responded with a laugh, dismissing the comment as “extreme.”

Critics were quick to point out perceived bias from the ABC News moderators, who fact-checked Trump’s statements while allowing Harris to make unchallenged claims.

This disparity in treatment did not go unnoticed by conservative viewers.

Political experts offered varied assessments of the debate’s outcome.

David Litt, former President Obama’s top speechwriter, declared it a victory for Democrats in a statement to Daily Mail, praising Harris’s poise and policy vision.

He noted that Trump appeared to “take the bait over and over,” resulting in “rambling, whining answers.”

On the other hand, Josh Bronitsky, former chief speechwriter for Trump’s Attorney General Bill Barr, saw the debate differently.

While acknowledging that Harris performed better than expected, similar to what Musk said, Bronitsky highlighted Trump’s “standout” moments and “cracker-barrel wit” to Daily Mail, asserting that the former president ultimately prevailed.

Democratic strategist Joel Payne was unequivocal in his assessment, calling it a “straight up butt kicking” for Harris.

He emphasized the importance of Harris’s performance in educating the public about herself and her vision.

Conservative voices, however, painted a different picture.

Alfredo Ortiz of the Job Creators Network criticized Harris for relying on “cliched talking points” and accused her of ducking her “failed liberal record.”

Jessica Anderson, president of the Sentinel Action Fund, echoed this sentiment, claiming Harris was attempting to “rewrite history on her support for the most fringe radical policies.”

As early voting begins, the impact of this debate on voters’ perceptions remains to be seen.

With both candidates making bold claims and trading barbs, the American public is left to sift through the rhetoric and decide which vision for the country’s future aligns with their own.
