Pelosi Drops a Bombshell About Trump and the Upcoming Presidential Debates

Nancy Pelosi Claims That Trump Will Back Out of the Presidential Debate

Over the weekend, former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi suggested that former President Donald Trump might back out of his upcoming presidential debate with Vice President Kamala Harris due to “cowardice.”

The California politician made the accusation when speaking to journalist Kara Swisher at the Texas Tribune Festival in Austin.

When discussing the debate that takes place on Tuesday, Swisher asked Pelosi if she had any advice for Trump going into the highly anticipated event. Pelosi replied, “You think he’s gonna show up?”

As the audience laughed, Swisher asked if she knew something that she did not know. “I know cowardice when I see it,” said Pelosi.

Swisher mentioned that she assumed Pelosi shared the views of former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY), who had previously referred to Trump as a “misogynist pig” on the same stage at an earlier Tribune Fest event.

Pelosi responded by calling Cheney “wonderful.”

Speaking to Fox Digital News, the Trump campaign rejected Pelosi’s claim about the debate, which will be held on ABC News, calling it “fake news.”

“Nancy Pelosi has no idea what she is talking about and has been proven to be a liar and fraud. If she isn’t busy giving herself fake titles to make herself feel better, she’s peddling fake news because it’s the only thing she’s ever done,” Trump spokesperson Steven Cheung told the outlet.

Trump also guaranteed that he would be participating in the debate when speaking to Fox News host Sean Hannity last Thursday. While he refused to shy away, he did express being frustrated about the network’s bias.

“I agreed to do it because they wouldn’t do any other network,” he said. “The other thing is, her best friend is the head of the network. Her husband’s best friend is married to the head of the network.”

Trump also added that he had heard that the Harris campaign was going to receive the debate questions in advance to prepare ahead.

Trump and Pelosi have been known to be rivals since he won the 2016 presidential election against formerly Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton.

In 2020, Pelosi made headlines when she dramatically ripped up her printed copy of Trump’s State of the Union address right after he concluded his speech to a Joint Session of Congress.

Pelosi also made headlines recently about statements she made concerning Jan. 6, where she claimed responsibility in a video that was released documenting the incident. She was also heard blaming the incident on Trump as she returned to the Capitol later that day.
